Nuns and Knitting

Last Saturday the Dublin City Centre Stitch'n'bitch was at its new location, The Bell Cafe. The new venue seems great and the group was lots of fun. Possibly because it was the first time we had knit there, or because the clientèle seemed to be from an older generation, we got lots of people coming up and talking to us and commenting on our projects. The best moment was when a priest came up to talk to us, and his opening gambit was 'You look like a groups of nuns'. Really, what do you say to that? After asking what we were all knitting he walked off with the final comment, 'You would all look lovely in veils'. Possibly the oddest "compliment" I have ever been paid. But I guess if the archiving doesn't work out there is a new vocation waiting for me! he he!
