Self-Stitched September '11 - Round up

So from reading the blog, you might have thought that I had fallen off the Self-Stitched September bandwagon, but you would be wrong. September is over, and I am glad to say that I managed to wear at least one thing I made myself every day of the month.

Overall I really enjoyed the month. At the beginning of the month I found it very exciting as I wore items that have been hiding in my closet for some time. However, by the end of the month, I was finding that I was wearing the same items again and again. Which seems to indicate that I should do some more sewing. Also I think I need to consider making things that match, or at least can be worn together. Finally, for the whole month of September I only wore one dress. I've taken to wearing more dresses in the last year, but still tend only to make dresses for special occasions. So from the last month I have learnt that I need to do more sewing, make more items that go well together and make more dresses.

So as not to bore you with loads of photos of me over the last two weeks, and because I wore the same items several times, I'm just going to give you a quick round up.

My newly made tartan skirt was a success ...

Bye, bye self-stitched, its been fun!

  1. Oh were you only doing it for a month? I thought it was a year thing! I've really enjoyed doing it via twitter, am going to try to keep it up!

  2. Did the name Self-Stitched September give it away? Yes I was just doing it for a month, but there are a couple of months like it during the year. So I will certainly join in another time, and try and keep it up on my own!

  3. I owe you some fabric. I think I will be going to Naif Souk the weekend after next (weather is finally cooling down) so will hopefully pick up a selection then.
